Description

The V-Force reed valve design has twice the reed tip surface area of a conventional design. The advantages are: 1) The reed only needs to flex half the distance of a traditional valve reed to achieve the same airflow; 2) as a result, it is easier for the valve reeds to open fully and close fully. A reed never closes completely, as it is always in motion. Consider that in an engine running at 8000 rpm the valve reeds open and close 133 times every second. But this fact highlights another advantage of the V-Force design. Since the reeds travel a much shorter distance, they generally last much longer and wear less than the reeds of a traditional valve.
