Description

PBR Sprockets rear sprockets (made in Italy) for street or off-road bikes set the benchmark for lightness and strength.

Featuring an original, precise design of the lightening holes, they are available in C45 steel or Ergal, made with CNC machines that make the machining particularly accurate and flawless, to the benefit of reliability, which reaches levels never achieved before.

These rear sprockets are available in various sizes and colors, and can be matched with the PBR range of front sprockets for 2- and 4-stroke street, enduro and motocross bikes.

The PBR street rear sprocket line has also been expanded with an induction-hardened C45 steel version, available for the most popular sport models. This treatment, which covers the entire tooth area, makes the part in contact with the chain even more resistant, ensuring the best reliability and even longer mileage.

So if you are looking for a quality, durable product that doesn't cost a fortune, PBR rear sprockets may be the right answer.

. steel: the ideal replacement for the original part, guaranteeing the same if not longer life; all rear sprockets are made of C45 steel, first hardened using an induction process, then tempered and passed through a special machine that guarantees flatness. Finally they are zinc-plated to better resist corrosion and last over time.

. ergal: made from 7075-T6 aluminum, they are the best for those who want to lighten the drivetrain and for those who want a true connoisseur's accessory. An ergal rear sprocket weighs less than half as much as a steel one, while its life is about 2/3. They are normally supplied in natural ergal color (silver) or, on request, in various colors. In some cases, they can receive an additional hard anodizing treatment that significantly increases hardness and therefore resistance to abrasion and corrosion.

HOW TO TELL IF THE REAR SPROCKET IS WORN

To check the rear sprocket, simply inspect the teeth that contact the chain with the bike stationary on the stand. First, check that all the teeth are present and whether there are any signs of breakage or grooves in the metal. Second, check whether the teeth are too rounded off, with an asymmetrical shape.

TIPS:

When choosing gear ratios, note that 1 front sprocket tooth is equivalent to about 3 rear sprocket teeth. With that in mind, choose your ratios by changing both the front and rear sprockets, without exceeding a maximum difference of 2 teeth. This way you can always keep the same chain length. If you want more acceleration, fit a rear sprocket with more teeth or a front sprocket with fewer teeth.

It is common to fit a rear sprocket with 2 more teeth than stock, but this is still an average choice that will not necessarily satisfy everyone.

When choosing the final drive ratio, remember that the shorter it is, the greater the acceleration, but if it is too short you lose top speed. If it is too long, you will lose acceleration and won't be able to reach top speed.

It is advisable to replace the final drive at intervals of about 20,000 Km, or when the components, sprockets and/or chain, are visibly damaged due to poor maintenance or heavy use; beyond 5000 km we advise against replacing just one of the three components.
