Description

AFAM offers all enduro and motocross riders a line of self-cleaning steel crowns with long life and minimal weight, designed for all types of terrain and in all weather conditions: the SLK series.

For these crowns, C45 carbon steel with normalization (N) treatment and hardness about 19HRC is used; the teeth undergo additional induction hardening to achieve a final hardness between 45 and 50 HRC over a depth of 1-2 mm.

In order to meet dimensional/geometric tolerances and avoid any mechanical deformation of the steel, SLK crowns are totally manufactured on high-precision CNC machines.

The design is optimized for maximum weight reduction without sacrificing performance and reliability.

Special grooves are made at the base of the tines on both sides that generate centrifugal self-cleaning, allowing the chain to always work on the entire surface of the tine when used on muddy or sandy soils.
