Josh was one of the most promising amateur riders who managed to maintain his momentum even after turning professional. He won once at Loretta Lynn’s in the 85cc class (14–16 years), but he has always been a top rider, securing several heat victories. Once he turned professional, he managed to finish on the podium twice and secure several top-five finishes in his first outdoor motocross season. Moving on to Supercross, he again racked up several podium finishes and top-five placings, with his best result being a second place at Daytona. In the following Supercross season, in 2006, he claimed three victories and finished third overall in the Quarter-litre class. Although he never won a title, he was always a rider who featured among the frontrunners, making it difficult for others to pick up valuable points. He was one of the top riders during the American round of the MXGP World Championship in 2015 at Glen Helen, where he took second place in the 450 class race, beating riders of the calibre of Cooper Webb, Jason Anderson and Antonio Cairoli. Josh now competes in selected races and enjoys spending time with his two sons, who have inherited his passion for racing.
