The experienced American rider has signed a two-year contract to compete on the TF 450-X in the AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross championships.
Plessinger, one of the best-known figures in American motocross, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of victories to the 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing team. This incredibly popular rider will play a key role in the ongoing development of the team and the TF 450-X, as Triumph aims for further success at the highest level of competition in the United States. Plessinger’s arrival marks the start of an exciting new chapter for both the rider and the team. Having closely followed Triumph’s rapid progress since its entry into top-level motocross competition, the American shares the team’s ambition to fight for victories and championships as the programme continues to develop. Before preparations for the 2027 season begin, Plessinger will make his first official appearance for the British motorbike manufacturer at the Triumph Global Dealer Conference in Thailand, from 6 to 9 October 2026. There, he will be welcomed into the Triumph family in front of around 1,200 dealers from around the world. Following the event, Plessinger will return to the team’s headquarters near Atlanta, Georgia, to begin working on the TF 450-X and finalise its basic set-up. His race debut with Triumph will then take place at the Paris Supercross in November, before an intensive programme of testing and development begins ahead of the 2027 SuperMotocross World Championship. Thanks to his extensive experience in both AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross, Plessinger will make a valuable contribution to the team, which aims to take its 450 programme to the next level. In addition to his racing skills, his enthusiasm and approachable personality make him the ideal fit for the Triumph brand and team. Here’s what Aaron had to say.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing team. I’ve been following the team’s progress with interest over the last few years and I firmly believe in the potential of both the team and the TF 450-X. We’re all aiming for the same thing: winning races and challenging for championships, and I’m delighted to be part of this journey. I can’t wait to meet everyone, spend time with the team in Thailand for the Global Dealer Conference and then head back to Georgia to start proper testing. The Paris Supercross will be a great way to kick off this new chapter, and after that we’ll get down to work preparing for the 2027 SuperMotocross season. I hope to clock some great times, secure a few wins and put Triumph right in the thick of the championship battle.”
