Ducati Desmo250 MX, a positive debut at the Motocross of Nations with Ferruccio Zanchi

After securing fourth place in Saturday’s qualifying alongside Alberto Forato (MXGP) and Andrea Adamo (Open), Zanchi (MX2) gave his all to support the Italian national team, contesting two hard-fought races. Starting outside the top 20 in both races, “Ferro” battled first against the more powerful 450cc bikes of the MXGP class and then against the 450cc bikes of the Open class, in two consecutive heats separated by a break of just forty minutes, managing to climb up the order at an excellent pace. Sixteenth with four laps to go in the first race, the Italian rider slipped back to 32nd place following a crash that damaged his front brake. In the second race, however, the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team rider managed to finish in 17th place, battling for a place in the top 15 right up until the final lap. “It was my first time with Team Italia and it was a fantastic experience. The Ernée circuit is very demanding but truly exceptional, and it was exciting to make the Desmo250 MX’s debut at the Motocross of Nations. It’s a shame about the mistake in the first race, which damaged the front brake disc and forced me to slow down, but overall it was a positive weekend where I rode well and showed good pace.”
