Fantic presents the new XXF250 EVO 2027, the first model to officially launch the Evolution Series, a design philosophy announced last June that aims to move beyond the traditional concept of the model year. The aim is to introduce updates only when new technological solutions are truly mature and capable of delivering tangible performance benefits. The new XXF250 EVO is therefore not merely a simple update, but represents a genuine evolution of the design, with significant innovations affecting the engine, clutch, chassis and suspension. Several technical solutions derive directly from the experience gained with its bigger sister, the XXF450.
At the heart of the new Fantic XXF250 EVO is a 250cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine that has been completely redesigned to deliver superior performance, particularly at high revs. These modifications have increased power and torque across the entire rev range, with the rev limiter set higher to make the most of the engine’s potential. Among the technical innovations, the Superbike-derived finger-type rocker arms stand out, whilst the intake system and airbox have been revised to improve airflow to the engine. A new hydraulic clutch also makes its debut, featuring a cup spring in place of the traditional coil springs and an integrated steel bell housing and primary gear assembly. This solution is designed to ensure consistent engagement even under the most demanding conditions, without requiring adjustments during the race. The Akrapovic exhaust, fitted as standard, has also been retained.
Significant changes have also been made to the chassis. The aluminium perimeter frame, derived from the XXF450, features a completely revised internal and external structure, with a slimmer front beam and new engine mounts. The aim is to achieve an optimised distribution of stiffness and improve the bike’s dynamic behaviour. The KYB suspension system has also received specific updates. At the front, there is a 48 mm SSS (Speed Sensitive System) fork, fitted with a new setting, whilst at the rear, an updated monoshock makes its debut, featuring manual compression adjustment at low speeds. There are also new features for the rear braking system, which has been revised to reduce weight and unsprung mass, helping to improve the chassis’s response.
The electronic system relies on the Athena-GET control unit, featuring a package derived directly from the world of racing. The rider can select engine maps from the handlebars and manage Traction Control and Launch Control. Using the WiGET app, it is also possible to customise the mappings and various electronic controls, adapting the bike’s behaviour to the rider’s needs and the characteristics of the track. The bodywork has been designed with sleek, compact lines, promoting greater freedom of movement and improved ergonomics in the saddle. The declared kerb weight is 101 kg. Rounding off the package are the Fantic Racing graphics, enhanced by the new EVO variant, which emphasises the identity of the new generation.
The new Fantic XXF250 EVO 2027 officially launches the Evolution Series, bringing to market a thoroughly updated design in terms of both the engine and chassis. The recommended retail price for the Italian market is set at €10,890 including VAT. With this new version, Fantic aims to strengthen its presence in the 250cc four-stroke motocross segment, introducing technical solutions derived from competition and designed to deliver ever-higher performance.
