Francisco Garcia is the new EMX250 Champion!

The European series is the final step on the ladder to the FIM Motocross World Championships: first comes the MX2 series, which is also contested on 250cc bikes, and then the premier MXGP championship with 450cc bikes. Kawasaki’s race planning department has already recognised Garcia’s talent and determination and has signed the young Spaniard, who turns nineteen in October, to compete in the MX2 World Championship alongside Mathis Valin on the factory KX250F-SR as a member of the Kawasaki Racing Team MX2, the official lime-green team, in 2027. After leading his group in qualifying, Garcia approached Turn 1 from a secure inside position, overtaking him on the very first lap and looking around to see where the race leader was. By the third lap he was hot on the leader’s heels before a crash cost him six seconds, though not second place. Within four laps he was back on the leader’s rear wheel and overtook him convincingly. He immediately pulled away from his rivals, masterfully responding to every further challenge, until a crash three laps from the finish cost him another race win, though it did not jeopardise his title, as he crossed the line in second place. “It’s been a really tough few weeks for me following my knee injury. The last five minutes of that race were the longest of my life, but now I’m the EMX250 champion. It’s been a fantastic year with the Bud team and I’m absolutely delighted to be staying with the Kawasaki family next year as well, when I’ll be moving up to MX2 with the official KRT team.”
