Jeffrey Herlings and Sacha Coenen were the stars of this thrilling Italian Grand Prix.

MXGP: Round 9 (Montevarchi – Results)

Tim Gajser won the second race at Montevarchi. The Slovenian crossed the finish line five seconds ahead of Jeffrey Herlings. Thanks to his victory in the first race and second place in the final race, the Dutchman secured overall victory at the MXGP Italian Grand Prix. Lucas Coenen finished third in the second race, a result good enough to secure second place overall in the Grand Prix. Andrea Adamo, who led the race in the early stages, finished fourth. The Italian was forced off the track during a heated battle with Gajser, but managed to get back into the race and finish fourth. Romain Febvre finished fifth, ahead of Maxime Renaux. The Yamaha rider’s results in the two heats (2–6) were enough to secure third place in the Grand Prix overall standings.

Camden McLellan won the second race. The Triumph rider took the lead shortly after the halfway point and never relinquished it. Sacha Coenen finished second, ahead of Liam Everts. Everts moved up to third place in the closing stages after overtaking Mathis Valin, who went on to finish fourth. Guillem Farres, winner of the first race, recovered from a poor start to finish fifth. Simon Längenfelder took the holeshot once again, but lost several places in the opening laps, eventually crossing the line in twelfth position.
