The Italian rider crashed during qualifying for the Latvian Grand Prix and underwent surgery shortly afterwards.

MXGP: Good news for our Andrea Bonacorsi

According to the medical team, the operation was a success and Bonacorsi has now returned home to continue his recovery. For the time being, the Ducati rider will remain out of competition. The team has emphasised that his health and full recovery are the top priorities and that he will be given all the time he needs to return to his previous level. Ducati has also thanked all the fans for the numerous messages of support and well-wishes received by Bonacorsi over the last few days. It is not yet known when the Italian rider will return to racing. However, Bonacorsi has stated that he is determined to come back stronger than before. Below are the team’s comments.
