MXGP: Herlings pulls off a stunning victory at Águeda to claim the Portuguese GP

Below are the Honda rider’s comments.

Jeffrey Herlings:

“I felt that Lucas and I were more or less on the same pace throughout the weekend. In Race 1, I lost a lot of time with my team-mate Ruben; I spent a long time trying to overtake him and Lucas got ahead. In Race 2, I was already second after one lap and felt a bit quicker in some places, but it was very difficult to find a line to overtake. I found a spot where I could do it and made sure he couldn’t get past me. I pushed a bit, built up a good gap and managed to win. GP number 117, race win number 221 – the statistics keep getting more impressive, but it’s been a great weekend and I can’t wait to race in South Africa.”
