Description

The new Malossi MHR Modular Head cylinder kits represent the natural evolution of the MHR line, developed through extensive racing research and proven by victories in national and European scooter cross and speed championships. Malossi now makes this top-level racing technology available to all riders competing in official trophies.

Cylinder
Manufactured from a special high-silicon and titanium aluminum alloy, the cylinder ensures excellent thermal stability and resistance to deformation at high temperatures. Advanced heat treatments provide high strength and dimensional stability up to 250°C. Precision CNC machining guarantees extremely tight tolerances. The bore features a nickel–silicon carbide coating for exceptional hardness and wear resistance, while the internal finish is optimized for ideal lubrication and sliding performance. Port timings for exhaust and transfers are specifically designed for racing applications and extensively tested on dynamometers and racetracks.

Piston
Made from a high-silicon aluminum alloy for maximum thermal resistance and stability, the piston features a tin coating to reduce friction. Its reinforced yet lightweight structure is engineered to withstand extreme racing stress while minimizing inertia.

Piston Ring
High-strength spheroidal cast iron ring with a hard chrome-plated, ground, and lapped contact surface for superior wear resistance.

Modular Head
The innovative Malossi modular head is designed to efficiently dissipate the high heat generated by high-output racing engines. The special aluminum alloy head is mounted directly to the cylinder liner and fully surrounded by coolant, maximizing heat exchange. Its design allows independent thermal expansion, improving reliability under extreme conditions. The combustion chamber is CNC-machined with extremely tight tolerances and optimized squish geometry, specifically developed for Scooter Speed and Scooter Cross Trophy racing.
