Ferruccio Zanchi suffered a back injury during the British Grand Prix at Foxhills.

A major setback for Ferruccio Zanchi: back injury at Foxhills

The young Italian rider took a heavy fall after jumping off one of the circuit’s hills, whilst he was in the top ten and battling for sixth place. Medical examinations have revealed a minor fracture to the sixth thoracic vertebra (T6). As a result, Zanchi will need a short period of recovery before he can return to racing. Despite this setback, the Honda rider remains positive. Before the crash, he was showing excellent pace and had the speed to challenge for a top result. Below are Zanchi’s comments.

Ferruccio Zanchi:

“Unfortunately, I crashed whilst I was in the top ten and battling for sixth place on one of the toughest sections of the Foxhill circuit. I’ve sustained a minor fracture to my T6 vertebra, so I’m now facing a short recovery period. Thanks to the whole team, my family and everyone who always supports me. We never give up!
