Team Fantic will not be taking part in the final two rounds of the World Championship.

Fantic Factory Racing to miss the final two rounds of the MXGP World Championship: no China or Australia

Due to injuries and logistical issues, Team Fantic Factory Racing will not be competing in the final two rounds of this season. Below are the comments from Jacky Martens, the team owner.

Jacky Martens:

“I wanted to take a minute to explain why we won’t be seeing our riders on the starting grid in China and Australia. It was an unfortunate combination of factors: Alberto and Brent were injured just a few weeks apart, compounded by the complex timing and logistics involved in overseas GPs. It was a really difficult situation, because we had no way of knowing whether our riders would be fit to race in the last two rounds by the time we had to send off the crates of equipment. We did our best and even shipped the race fuel overseas to be ready just in case, but in the end the timing didn’t work out. We will always do everything we can to be there and represent the brand and our valued partners. That’s why we signed Jörgen-Matthias Talviku for an extra round in Turkey, even though we’d initially agreed on a three-round contract. Alberto then joined him following a last-minute decision, just over a week after returning to racing, and we were really pleased to see him achieve such a positive result. Now the work continues and in three weeks’ time we’ll be back in Ernée, France, for the Motocross of Nations. Thank you all for your continued support.”
