The Belgian twins have signed a multi-year contract to remain official Red Bull KTM riders and have successfully made their debut as wildcards in the AMA Pro National Motocross Championship in Colorado.
Lucas, who held the MXGP World Championship leader’s ‘Red Jersey’ in his second season in the premier class on the KTM 450 SX-F, and Sacha, in contention for the MX2 title on the KTM 250 SX-F, have already secured several Grand Prix trophies this season. Lucas finished 5th and 2nd in his two full seasons in MX2, before finishing runner-up in the 2025 MXGP on his debut, whilst also becoming the youngest Grand Prix winner in the sport’s premier class. Sacha has been a leading contender in MX2 from the outset. He has won at least one MX2 Grand Prix in each of the last three years and took the red plate in 2026, remaining in contention for the championship. In 2027, Lucas and Sacha will compete in the AMA 450SX/MX and 250SX/MX classes respectively, with the East/West calendar yet to be finalised. Below are the riders’ comments.
“I’m thrilled to be able to confirm that we’ll be in the United States next year. When we went to Thunder Valley, it was fantastic and we also achieved excellent results for the team in the GPs, until bad luck struck with the hip problem. 2027 will be a big change for the family, but it’s a dream come true. Thank you to everyone at Red Bull KTM for making this new chapter possible.”
“I’m absolutely thrilled. We still have big goals for the rest of the MX2 season, but the confirmation of this deal allows us to focus on that and start planning for 2027. There’ll be a lot to learn, but that’s exactly what we want to do. It’s fantastic to have this opportunity. I can’t wait.”
