MXGP Great Britain: Jeremy Seewer secures a brilliant sixth place

Team Van Venrooy KTM Racing enjoyed a successful weekend at the twelfth round of the FIM MXGP World Championship at Foxhill, Great Britain. Jeremy Seewer took another clear step forward by securing sixth place overall. Seewer’s weekend got off to a promising start with the ninth-fastest time in qualifying. The Swiss rider finished fifteenth in the qualifying race, but on Sunday he demonstrated his true potential. Two excellent starts allowed him to finish the two races in eighth and seventh place, securing sixth place overall for the day. Here are Jeremy’s comments.

Jeremy Seewer:

“I’ve finally rediscovered the joy of riding the bike, and it was a fantastic feeling. I managed to play around with the bike a bit more and even pull off a few nice whips for the fans. On Saturday morning, even in free practice, the pace was good, and I was really proud of that, especially considering everything that’s happened recently. In the qualifying race, I started to experience some stiffness in my arms. That’s understandable, as I’m no longer used to riding at this speed and intensity. After all, it was my first Grand Prix since my return, and I realised straight away that this was a return to the very top level. I’m very happy with Sunday. To be honest, I’m quite proud of myself. Two solid races allowed me to finish sixth overall. I got off to two good starts, but I’m still lacking a bit of race pace. That’s to be expected with a completely new bike, a new team and very little time to prepare. The aim now is to get both my physical condition and my mindset back to where they were a few years ago. We’re now heading to Loket. I’ve regained a bit of my rhythm, I believe in myself again and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity the team has given me. I’d also like to thank everyone close to me for their support.''
