The new line-up will compete on KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION bikes in the AMA Supercross Championship, the Pro Motocross Championship and the SMX Finals, further reinforcing KTM’s commitment to the next generation of talent in the 250 class.
DiFrancesco, 21, joins Team Red Bull KTM Factory Racing following an outstanding 2026 season, which saw him finish second in the 250SMX World Championship, fifth in the 250MX and fourth in the Western Division 250SX standings. The Californian rider secured his first-ever 250SX podium at Anaheim 1 and maintained this momentum throughout the outdoor races and the play-offs, securing a string of podium finishes and establishing himself as one of the main title contenders. Bennick, aged 20, is another promising addition to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team following an excellent 2026 season that saw him finish third in the 250SX East standings and secure his first podium in the 250SMX at SMX Playoff 1 in Columbus. The North Carolina-born rider has continued to progress in the professional ranks following his brilliant amateur career with the KTM Orange Brigade and is set to tackle 2027 with the aim of winning the title. The arrival of DiFrancesco and Bennick coincides with a significant expansion of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s 250 programme, which will also feature Beaumer and the promising Belgian rider Coenen. Beaumer, 20, will return for his fourth season with the team after recently extending his contract until 2027 and beyond, whilst 19-year-old Coenen arrives from the MX2 World Championship following a Grand Prix season in which he finished third in the 2026 standings. Below are the riders’ comments.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team. It’s been one of the top teams in the paddock for as long as I can remember, so it’ll be a fantastic feeling to ride the orange bike in 2027: it only boosts my confidence in myself and in the team. Now the aim is to get out on the track and win. I’m excited and can’t wait for the season to start.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team next year. It’s always been a dream of mine, so this is a fantastic and surreal moment for me. There are lots of familiar faces in the team as well as some new ones, and I think we’ll form a great squad and be aiming for the championship: I’m ready to get to work.”
