For Husqvarna, the current season appears to be its last as a factory team.
From 2027 onwards, the brand will cease running an in-house factory team and instead support independent teams and riders with factory-level equipment and technical expertise for the SMX series. This development will ensure the brand’s presence in top-level competitions, whilst refocusing attention on its heritage and the wider community of enthusiasts. For 2027, Husqvarna Mobility will realign its strategy in the North American market, aiming to further differentiate itself and consolidate Husqvarna’s position in the motorcycle sector, embracing its wide range of Motocross, Enduro, Travel, Naked, Supermoto and electric models. Husqvarna Mobility’s influence extends far beyond stadium racing and the world of professional motocross. Thanks to its exceptional range of off-road competition motorcycles, the brand has forged a deep connection with motorcyclists and explorers. With over 120 years of innovation and a constant commitment to its pioneering spirit, Husqvarna continues to inspire motorcyclists to tackle every kind of journey, whether it be racing, challenging off-road trails, daily commuting or road trips. As part of this phase of transition and strategic evolution, Husqvarna will develop an engine leasing programme in North America for the professional racing sector. Building on an existing structure, the programme will provide selected teams and riders with factory-spec engines and suspension components via a leasing model. The programme will enable the brand to remain active in the world of motocross in the future, continuing to engage with the Husqvarna fanbase at races and reinforcing the manufacturer’s ongoing commitment to motorsport. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team is fully committed to competing at the highest level of the sport for the remainder of 2026, including this weekend’s AMA Supercross Championship finals
