The partnership between Vertemati and REX MOTOR will be officially unveiled at the upcoming EICMA, the Milan Motorcycle Show.

Vertemati and REX MOTOR, a new motocross project: debut in the MX2 World Championship in 2028

The two companies are working on the development of a new generation of off-road motorbikes, including 250 cc four-stroke models, 300 cc two-stroke models, and 350 cc and 450 cc four-stroke models. The ultimate goal is to compete in the MX2 World Championship in 2028. According to Josef Vertemati, Vertemati’s chief operating officer, the first major step has already been taken. A completely new 250 cc four-stroke engine has been developed for REX MOTOR, laying the foundations for further collaboration. In the coming period, the range of engines will be expanded to include 350 cc and 450 cc four-stroke engines, as well as a 300 cc two-stroke engine. The 2027 season will be entirely dedicated to the further development of the new motorcycles. The main objective will be to test and refine the technology, and to thoroughly evaluate the bikes under race conditions on the track. The ultimate goal is ambitious. Vertemati and REX MOTOR are aiming to make their debut in the MX2 World Championship in 2028. This would take the partnership between the Italian motorcycle manufacturer and the Chinese manufacturer to the most important international stage.
