The disc hub track connection is left free at three points to allow thermal expansion while still limiting the effect of wheel braking.
Alternating BATFLY grooves on the two disc surfaces create a self-ventilation mechanism to cool the disc. Mud and dirt are also easily removed from the braking surface.
The outer and inner diameters of the disc have a non-round design that allows better radial expansion of the disc under extreme heat conditions.
II hub is integral with the brake band but is disengaged at three points where stainless steel pawls are used. This results in
the best compromise between the braking readiness of the fixed disc and the temperature performance of the floating disc.
