Beta presents the new 2027 RX250 4-stroke

A new model is set to officially join Beta’s motocross range. This is the new RX 250 4T, a bike born from a completely new design, developed from the ground up in terms of both chassis and engine. With the 2027 model year, the range now features a complete line-up of four race-ready models, capable of meeting the needs of an ever-wider audience thanks to their diverse and complementary characteristics. The addition of the 250 4T thus joins the established RX 450 and the two-stroke stars, the RX 250 and RX 350. A family clad in a brand-new, aggressive red and black livery.

The main innovation of the 2027 model year redefines the brand’s positioning in the world of motocross. The new RX 250 4-stroke is the result of a completely new design, developed from the ground up in terms of both chassis and engine, aimed at achieving the best possible balance between performance, weight, rideability and track performance. The engine is an extremely compact and lightweight unit, offering a significant weight advantage of around 1.5 kg less than the standard set by the competition in the same category. To achieve this, work was carried out on numerous aspects, such as the reduced thickness of the die-cast aluminium inner casings, whilst the outer casings and cylinder head cover are made of magnesium alloy. The new engine incorporates sophisticated technical solutions such as the dual injection system, with injectors positioned both on the throttle body and on the airbox sleeve. This configuration allows for optimal management of the air-fuel mixture, improving response at low revs and ensuring strong acceleration at high revs. The all-new 250cc engine features a DOHC timing system with a chain positioned on the right-hand side, marking a clear departure from the 450 RX. The timing system uses a quiet Morse-type chain, driven by a gear linked to the water pump shaft. The real structural innovation is the introduction of a dedicated frame for the new RX 250 4T, characterised by a more tapered cradle section and side-mounted cylinder head mounts that increase torsional rigidity whilst maintaining optimal vertical flexibility. Attention to thermal flows guided the design of the cooling system through CFD analysis, with the aim of optimising heat exchange and minimising pressure drops, adopting a closed-type radiator on the RX 250 4T to avoid external piping. The structural design retains the aluminium rear subframe and provides extremely easy and intuitive access to the air filter on the left side, requiring no tools whatsoever.
