Twenty Grand Prix rounds spread across four continents will decide the MXGP and MX2 world titles, with the season opening in Andalusia on 28 February and the year concluding at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Assen on 10 October.
In the stunning region of Andalusia, Almonte will kick off the season with the Andalusia GP; the Spanish circuit joined the calendar in 2026 and now serves as the opening round for both MXGP and MX2, alongside the WMX and EMX125 events on the programme. Two weeks later, the paddock will cross the Atlantic for the MXGP of Argentina on 14 March, with the much-loved Bariloche circuit hosting the MXGP for the second year running. The paddock then returns to Europe for a busy spring schedule. The Italian Grand Prix on 28 March at Montevarchi will be followed by the Sardinian Grand Prix at Riola Sardo on 4 April. Next comes the Spanish Grand Prix on 18 April, the venue for which will be announced shortly, and the Trentino Grand Prix in Pietramurata on 25 April. May begins far from Europe. The MXGP of China returns to Shanghai on 2 May, moving from its usual September date to a spring slot that places one of the fastest-growing markets in world motocross at the heart of the season. The Grand Prix also coincides with Labour Day, one of the most important national holidays on the Chinese calendar and a period of celebration that unites the country. The European core of the calendar then runs from late May to late June, with the Portuguese Grand Prix on 23 May at a venue yet to be announced, the French Grand Prix on 30 May, which returns to Saint Jean d’Angély, the Charente-Maritime circuit that last hosted a Grand Prix in 2025, the Latvian Grand Prix at Kegums on 13 June, the German Grand Prix at Teutschenthal on 20 June and the British Grand Prix at Foxhills on 27 June. At Foxhills, the inclusion of the EMX250 class was a key part of the discussions surrounding the British round. The addition of this class was an important and vital decision for the future of British motocross, offering the country’s most talented young riders the opportunity to race on home soil in front of their own fans. The July break offers teams and riders a proper mid-season reset, and it is during this period that the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship takes place in Pärnu, Estonia, on 18 July. Racing resumes with two of the most demanding weekends of the year: the Czech Republic Grand Prix at Loket on 25 July and the Flanders Grand Prix at Lommel on 1 August. The run-in to the end of the championship begins with the Swedish Grand Prix in Uddevalla on 15 August and the Dutch Grand Prix in Arnhem on 22 August, before the Turkish Grand Prix in Afyonkarahisar on 5 September. A further Grand Prix is scheduled for 12 September, with the host country and venue yet to be announced, followed by the Australian Grand Prix in Darwin on 19 September. The championship will then conclude in Europe with the Swiss Grand Prix on 3 October, at a venue yet to be confirmed, bringing the season to a close a week before the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Assen, the Netherlands.
